Der sich als Düsseldorfer offspace längst etablierte reinraum ist eine ehemalige unterirdische Toilette und daher als Ausstellungsraum nur sehr schwer zu bespielen. Nicht um dem aus dem Weg zu gehen, sondern viel mehr um konzeptionell auf den Tag der Veranstaltungseröffnung - die „Nacht der Museen“ einzugehen, wurde eben dieser Abort ins Gegenteil verwandelt. Mit aufwendigen Umbaumaßnahmen wurde die Toilette in ein Museum verwandelt.

Leider geht die städtische Weiterentwicklung des reichen Düsseldorf einher mit der Vertreibung solcher subkulturellen Orte und non-profit Organi-sationen. Stichwort: Gentrifizierung. Die Verwand-lung des Raumes spielt auf mehreren Ebenen darauf an.

The reinraum - long established as an offspace in Düsseldorf - used to be an underground toilet and is therefore difficult to use as an exhibitionspace.
